The Provisional Cast On allows to knit in both directions without pick up stitches. There are several methods for privisional cast on. Here, you will see how to do a it with a hook.


1. Crochet a chain with a contrast yarn, a few stitches longer than required cast on stitches.
2. Turn the chain back, you will use these small bumps.

3. Insert your needle under one bump.
4. Knit one stitch with your final yarn.

5. Continue knit in the next bump.
6. Until you have the number of CO stitches.

Now your cast on is done!
